MLK- Martin Luther King, Jr. Activities for Kindergarten

Hello Friends!
On Friday we learned about and celebrated Martin Luther King, Jr. We first read a book about how we are different and what makes us special!
The kindergarteners then cut pictures out of all different people and families.

After cutting the pictures out the students added the pictures to our poster.

We then read about Martin's dream!
from D. Conway

We learned that the dove is the symbol of peace.
First, we added a border.

Then we had lots of cutting! This activity is GREAT for strengthening
fine motor muscles and following multi-step directions.

The Kinders then wrote about their dream!
"Peace."

"Love."

"Equality."

"Love."

"Friendship."

"Love."

We ended our lesson with adding MLK dream words to our
Being Different is being SPECIAL poster!
